Showing Up for Lincoln

Last Updated: October 21, 2026

Signal of Lincoln is a locally owned security company led by Owner and CEO Troy Nielsen. We live here, we hire here, and we show up here. That means giving our time, our officers and our support to the Lincoln causes and events that make this a great place to live and work.

The short answer: Signal of Lincoln supports Lincoln through donated officers, sponsorships and hands-on event work. Over the last two years that has included the Team Jack Foundation, the Lincoln Heart Walk, Lincoln's Alzheimer's walk, The Eastmont Foundation's Monopoly for the Monarch, the Lincoln Sports Foundation, and race operations at Legacy Downs at WarHorse Casino Lincoln.

Causes We Support

These are organizations we come back to year after year, because the work they do matters to the people we protect.

Nebraska Derby Day title sponsor

Signal of Lincoln was the title sponsor of Nebraska Derby Day on May 30, 2026 at Legacy Downs at WarHorse Casino Lincoln, with Team Jack as the charity of the day. We brought Team Jack families behind the scenes for the races and joined the Team Jack Foundation Gala earlier in the year. Team Jack raises money for pediatric brain cancer research, and we are proud to stand with them.

We have supported the Lincoln Heart Walk two years running. In 2025, one of our officers and a Signal patrol vehicle stood by overnight so the tents, tables and setup were ready and secure when walkers arrived the next morning.

For the second year in a row, Signal of Lincoln supported The Eastmont Foundation's Monopoly for the Monarch event, which raises money for charitable hospice care through the Monarch program at Eastmont. Our team was there at the table, too.

When the best young archers in the country came to Lincoln in July 2026 for the USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals and JOAD U.S. Open, Signal of Lincoln provided overnight watch and daytime parking support at LSF CAMPUS. We are proud to support the Lincoln Sports Foundation and the events it brings to our city.

Alzheimer's Walk

Signal of Lincoln donated an officer to support Lincoln's most recent Alzheimer's walk. Not everything we do makes it onto social media, but showing up for families affected by Alzheimer's is something we are glad to do.

How We Give

Time, officers and sponsorships

Our support usually takes one of three forms: a donated officer or patrol presence for a community event, a sponsorship, or our team showing up in person to help. We focus on Lincoln organizations doing real good for our neighbors.

Lincoln Events We Have Worked

Beyond the causes above, our officers are part of some of Lincoln's most visible events.

Race operations, 2025 and 2026 seasons

Signal of Lincoln supported race operations at Legacy Downs at WarHorse Casino Lincoln for the last two live racing seasons. In 2025 we were both a race sponsor and part of the team on the ground making race days run smoothly.

Overnight watch for the Budweiser Clydesdales

When the Budweiser Clydesdales visited Lincoln in August 2026 with Quality Brands of Lincoln, Signal of Lincoln officers provided overnight watch. They were, honestly, the best behaved clients we have ever had.

Our officers also worked the FOX Sports Big Noon Kickoff fan event at DICK'S Sporting Goods in Lincoln in October 2026. If your organization is planning an event, see how we approach special event security.
