Meet Annie, Signal of Lincoln's Chief Happiness Pawficer

Last Updated: October 22, 2026

The short answer: Annie is a black senior dog and the Chief Happiness Pawficer at Signal of Lincoln, the locally owned security company led by Owner and CEO Troy Nielsen. She does not write security plans or work posts, but she keeps morale high at our Lincoln office and has become a familiar face to the people who follow our team.

Every Great Team Needs a Morale Officer

Security work happens at all hours, in all kinds of weather, and often when everyone else is asleep. A team that does that kind of work well needs people who look out for each other. At Signal of Lincoln, part of that job falls to Annie.

You will usually find her at our office on South 17th Street, holding down the couch during our team check-ins and greeting whoever walks through the door. She takes her role seriously: she has never missed a chance to make someone's day a little better.

Why a Security Company Has a Chief Happiness Pawficer

Annie is a small reminder of something that matters a lot to us. Signal of Lincoln is a local, family-led business. We know our officers by name, and our clients know us by name. That kind of culture shows up in the work: officers who feel supported tend to show up, stay engaged and take pride in doing the job right.

What Annie Says About How We Work

  • We are local. Our office, our team and our leadership are right here in Lincoln.
  • We are people first. The same care that goes into a good office culture goes into how officers treat your tenants, visitors and staff.
  • We show up. For our clients, and for our community. See what that looks like on our Community page.
